Micro Series Gestural line, expressive shape, pattern and color are the mainstays of my visual vocabulary. Older work explores shapes derived from natural artifacts including leaves, shells, bones and seedpods. This series incorporates imagery appropriated from the 19th century biologist/illustrator Ernst Haeckel's detailed drawings of minute marine life, bringing to mind elaborate chandeliers and decorative textile patterns.
